Father's day is just a few days away now. This Sunday is the time to tell your Dad how much you love him!
Sociologists have long discussed about how parents are the 'primary agents of socialization' of their kids. Much of our worldview is shaped in the childhood by our parents. Yes opinions and attitudes do change with time, but one cannot really let go of all those childhood influences that shape one's personality.
Some psychologists have also spoken about the intense love and attraction that a child has for his parent. This love is also said to encourage latent feelings of envy with the other parent!
While there is much more interesting academic discourse on parent-child relationship, Father's day this Sunday is a time to celebrate that special bond. Send flowers to Dad, give him cute gifts and let him know he is special to you 'Dil Se'.
